How to search flexible award dates and destinations#

Panorama is useful when the question is broader than one flight: where can I go during a school break, which European airport has promising award space, or when might a business-class trip fit my points budget? Its stored database makes it possible to browse combinations without manually repeating an individual live search for every route and date.

Choose departure and arrival locations using the airports, cities, countries, regions, or saved Multi-City Codes supported by the form. Select a cabin, date window, and programs. Include only places you would consider visiting or using as gateways; an airport far from your final destination may add time and expense.

Turn broad results into a useful shortlist#

1. Search a realistic window

   Use your earliest and latest workable dates. If the entire period is flexible, explore the neighboring date-window controls rather than tying the trip to the first day that appears.

2. Apply the essential filters

   Narrow by seats, cabin, points, taxes, stops, and programs or card currencies you can use. Review premium-cabin coverage if the trip is about Business or First.

3. Compare route and freshness

   Read the date, route, loyalty program, points, taxes, seats, and last-seen information together. Sort by cabin points prices or recent availability according to your priority.

4. Open the flight

   Select an available cabin price to inspect matching itineraries. Review each segment and use Refresh Data or a real-time search when supported before continuing to the booking program.

Is Panorama availability live or stored?#

Panorama results reflect availability collected earlier. The last-seen time helps you judge how recently an award was observed; it is not a hold on those seats. Background refresh indicators can appear while older results are being checked, and individual flight windows may offer additional refresh controls for supported programs.

A route can remain interesting even when one displayed flight is no longer available. Try another date, another cabin, or another program. A successful refresh is still a point-in-time check: the loyalty program's booking process is where you confirm the itinerary and price you can purchase.

Use All Routes when the route is already chosen#

Open All Routes to browse the routes and mileage programs supported by Panorama. Filter departure and destination by airport, country, or region, then narrow by mileage program or transferable bank points. A route card shows its program, airports, and when the route was last seen. Transfer-partner logos indicate possible funding connections.

Select the route card or calendar icon to open its dates. Choose a mileage program, then use Calendar View to compare nearby days and cabins. Move between months with the arrows or return with Today. The dates you can inspect depend on your account's access window.

Calendar prices are organized by cabin; a star marks a price also available nonstop. List View aligns individual dates and adds a points-price chart for comparison. Select a cabin's price in either view to inspect the flights behind it. Where offered, Request Refresh asks for updated data; review Last Refresh before interpreting the calendar.

Keep watching a flexible trip#

If your shortlist is empty or you are still waiting for the right price, create a Panorama alert. Choose the flexible locations, dates, cabins, travelers, and maximum points per passenger you can accept. Panorama alerts scan the stored database; they do not perform the active real-time checks used by real-time alerts.

As your plan becomes more concrete, switch to a live search for the exact route and dates. This combines broad discovery with itinerary-level comparison and avoids treating a database observation as a confirmed booking opportunity.
