# TAP Miles&Go guide: TAP awards, partner flights and how to book

TAP Miles&Go is TAP Air Portugal’s loyalty program. Its miles can be redeemed for eligible TAP flights, Star Alliance flights and selected other airline partners. The official redemption page separates these categories, which is useful because their booking paths and itinerary rules are not identical.

Begin with the airline that operates the flight you want. A TAP-marketed cash itinerary and an available partner award are different booking possibilities. For a journey to Europe, compare TAP-operated travel and an eligible partner alternative on the dates you can use, then inspect the complete mileage and money quote for each.

TAP instructs members to sign in at flyTAP and select Pay with miles for TAP and Star Alliance searches. For other partner airlines, its redemption page directs travelers to TAP Miles&Go Customer Service. A missing online result is therefore worth diagnosing by category before assuming the program does not support the airline.

Read stopover rules for the award category you choose. TAP’s own-airline award conditions say those tickets are not eligible for the standard TAP Stopover program. Its partner-award conditions contain a separate stopover provision for eligible return journeys. A promotion aimed at paid tickets should not be used as an award-routing rule.

The partner conditions also address mixed cabins and segment limits. A premium cabin on one segment can affect the mileage charged for the trip. ## How to book a TAP Miles&Go award

Prepare a route that meets your travel needs, including any connection in Lisbon or Porto. Treat each acceptable airport and date as an alternative to compare, rather than assuming a stopover can be added after ticketing.

1. **Identify the award category** Determine whether the itinerary is TAP operated, a Star Alliance award or another partner award. Open the official conditions for that category.
2. **Search or request the itinerary** Sign in and use Pay with miles for supported online bookings. For another partner, give TAP Customer Service the exact dates, flight numbers, cabin and passenger count.
3. **Validate the full routing** Check the number of segments, cabin on every leg, connection lengths and any proposed stopover or open jaw. Request a complete price for the itinerary you will actually fly.
4. **Confirm travelers and charges** Check beneficiary requirements when booking for others. Review miles, airport taxes, issuance or servicing charges and current change and refund conditions.
5. **Issue and confirm** Recheck after funding the account, complete payment and save the e-ticket. Retrieve partner flights with the operating carrier before arranging separate onward tickets.

Capital One’s official transfer directory includes TAP Miles&Go, and Marriott’s current airline-transfer list also includes the program. Those paths use different currencies and conversion terms. Check the current source-account screen rather than assuming a hotel-point conversion produces the same mileage balance as a bank transfer.

The published program terms impose advance-issuance requirements on certain partner awards for someone other than the account holder. A partner chart can be useful for planning, but use the current official chart link and the final issued itinerary when comparing programs.
