What is Aeromexico Rewards?
Aeromexico Rewards is Aeromexico’s loyalty program, previously known as Club Premier. Members collect Aeromexico Rewards Points and redeem them for eligible travel and other rewards. The program’s currency belongs to Aeromexico Rewards: a balance in another airline’s loyalty account is a separate balance, even when both airlines belong to SkyTeam.
For an award traveler, the useful question is which program can issue the actual itinerary. You might fly on Aeromexico while booking through a partner program, or spend Aeromexico Rewards Points on an eligible partner-operated flight. Keep the airline operating the aircraft, the program issuing the ticket and the source of your points as three separate pieces of your plan.
Classic and dynamic tickets need separate comparisons
Aeromexico’s published award explanation distinguishes classic awards with controlled availability from dynamic-fare awards whose points requirement depends on the flight and demand. Its comparison also gives those products different baggage and change conditions. A cash fare family is therefore a poor substitute for reading the conditions attached to the award actually offered.
Search your trip before deciding how many points to acquire. Write down the product name and operating airline next to each quote. If an expensive award appears on one date, try neighboring dates and a different departure time before concluding that every flight on the route costs the same. For a connecting journey, inspect the complete itinerary rather than adding two attractive examples from separate searches.
Partner eligibility and seat availability are distinct. An airline appearing in a program description establishes a possible booking relationship; it does not establish that every route, cabin or date is bookable. If you find a partner flight elsewhere, reproduce the exact flight numbers with Aeromexico Rewards before treating the option as usable.
How to book a flight with Aeromexico Rewards Points
Prepare the route, dates, cabin and passenger count first. A successful flight search is only the beginning of a booking: the final payment page must still offer the itinerary at a price and set of rules you accept.
Find candidate flights
Use AwardTool to explore possible dates, then open Aeromexico’s official rewards booking flow and sign in. Search the full journey for everyone traveling.
Identify the ticket offered
Check whether the result is a classic award, a dynamic award or another payment option. Read the operating carrier and cabin on each segment, especially when a connection is included.
Review the complete cost
Record the points and cash charges, including any service charge. Open the baggage and change conditions; do not infer them from a similarly named paid ticket.
Fund and recheck
If you need an eligible bank transfer, verify its ratio, account-name requirements and processing time with the bank. Recheck the flight before starting the transfer and again when the points arrive.
Issue and verify
Complete payment and save the ticket receipt. For a partner flight, obtain the operating airline’s booking reference and confirm that it can retrieve every traveler and segment.
U.S. funding options and booking problems
The U.S. American Express transfer directory currently lists Aeromexico Rewards at 1,000 Membership Rewards points to 1,600 Aeromexico Rewards Points. Compare the bank points required rather than comparing Aeromexico’s larger numerical balance directly with another airline’s miles. This is the U.S. directory; American Express rules in Mexico can be different.
The Points Guy’s November 12, 2024 Aeromexico guide describes online search problems and telephone-assisted partner bookings. Those observations are historical, rather than verified current conditions. For assistance with a search today, use Aeromexico’s current official contact options and provide the airline, flight number, date, cabin and traveler count. Obtain a current ticket quote before transferring points.
Rove’s current partner list also includes Aeromexico Rewards. Earning through Rove and transferring an existing bank balance are different funding paths. Confirm the source program’s current transfer screen and expected processing before relying on either for a time-sensitive seat.
Deciding whether the redemption works for your trip
Compare the award with a cash ticket you would actually buy, including baggage and useful flexibility. Subtract unavoidable award cash charges from the cash price before judging the value of the points. An award that saves little money may still suit an existing balance; buying or transferring a large balance to obtain it deserves a stricter comparison.
If your dates are uncertain, ask how the specific ticket can be changed and what happens to the points after cancellation. Save the answer with your receipt. Resolve an unclear partner itinerary before making nonrefundable hotel or positioning-flight reservations; an attractive search result is not an issued ticket.
Common questions
Is Club Premier the same program as Aeromexico Rewards?
Club Premier is the former name of Aeromexico Rewards. Use the current Aeromexico Rewards website and current ticket conditions when following older booking advice.
Can I use Aeromexico Rewards Points on every SkyTeam flight?
Eligible partner awards depend on the product, airline and available inventory. Confirm the exact itinerary through Aeromexico Rewards rather than assuming a SkyTeam cash seat is an award seat.
Are taxes and baggage included in an Aeromexico award?
Check the cash total and baggage allowance for the specific award. Aeromexico’s comparison gives classic and dynamic tickets different conditions, and a redemption can include service charges.
